The Max Strus Family Foundation had a big 2026, awarding more than $100,000 in grants to organizations focused on youth sports, education, mental health, cancer support and healthcare, while reaching over 500 athletes through its Chicago and Cleveland basketball camps and its first Empower Sports Clinic for teens and adults with disabilities. Highlights included the 2026 Gary Strong Award to spinal cord injury advocate Kory Wiita, a $20,000 gift to PAWS Chicago at the inaugural Pickle & Pints event, and a free Parking Lot Party at Moraine Valley Community College that drew more than 1,500 community members. As Max starts a new chapter with the LA Clippers, the Foundation stays rooted in Chicago and Cleveland, with more grants and initiatives coming before year’s end.
Download The Report →2025 marked our first year as a foundation — and it went beyond anything we could have ever imagined. What started as a simple idea to give back turned into real impact. Together, we were able to grant out over $160,000 to support families, organizations, and communities that mean so much to us. To every family member, partner, volunteer, and supporter — thank you for believing in the mission.
